What a Yankee, its parts and a plain acca on the same four selections returned over 115 days of real odds and results.
Four legs at 1.40 to 1.80
| Bet | Paid out | In profit | Return |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lucky 15 (15 bets) | 99.1% | 25.2% | +0.0% |
| Yankee (11 bets) | 94.8% | 25.2% | -0.3% |
| 6 doubles | 94.8% | 37.4% | +0.1% |
| 4 trebles | 65.2% | 25.2% | -0.9% |
| 4-fold acca | 25.2% | 25.2% | +0.0% |
| 4 singles | 99.1% | 65.2% | +0.6% |
Four legs at 1.20 to 1.40
| Bet | Paid out | In profit | Return |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lucky 15 (15 bets) | 99.1% | 44.8% | -2.5% |
| Yankee (11 bets) | 98.3% | 44.8% | -3.0% |
| 6 doubles | 98.3% | 44.8% | -2.3% |
| 4 trebles | 84.5% | 44.8% | -3.6% |
| 4-fold acca | 44.8% | 44.8% | -5.0% |
| 4 singles | 99.1% | 44.8% | -1.3% |
What this shows: without the singles, a Yankee needs two winners before it pays anything. On legs at 1.40 to 1.80 it paid out on 94.8% of days, against 99.1% for the Lucky 15, but the share of days in profit was the same: 25.2%. The four singles in a Lucky 15 cost four extra stakes and mostly soften losing days. If you back the same four selections either way, the long-run return is close, because every bet carries the same bookmaker margin.
Method: every day since 3 July 2026 (4,859 matches) we took the shortest-priced selections inside the odds range, one per match, from match result, double chance, goal lines and both teams to score, with the bookmaker odds before kick-off. Every bet type was settled on the same four legs per day at 1 unit per bet. "Paid out" = share of days with any return, "In profit" = share of days the return beat the total stake, "Return" = profit or loss over the whole period at 1 unit per bet. The same rules pick our daily acca tips.

What is a Yankee bet?
A Yankee is a bet on four selections that consists of 11 bets: 6 doubles, 4 trebles and 1 fourfold accumulator. There are no singles, so you need at least two winners for a return. A Yankee at 1 per bet costs 11; each way it costs 22.
Worked example
Four selections at 2/1, 3/1, 5/2 and 6/4 (decimal 3.00, 4.00, 3.50 and 2.50), 1 per bet, so 11 in total:
| Winners | Return | Profit |
|---|---|---|
| All four | 301.00 | +290.00 |
| First three (6/4 loses) | 78.50 | +67.50 |
| First two | 12.00 | +1.00 |
Yankee or Lucky 15?
A Lucky 15 adds four singles to the Yankee: 15 bets instead of 11. With the same four selections, one winner is then enough for a return. A Canadian or Super Yankee is the five-selection version with 26 bets.
Super Yankee: five selections, 26 bets
A Super Yankee, also called a Canadian, is the five-selection version of the Yankee: 10 doubles, 10 trebles, 5 fourfolds and 1 fivefold, so 26 bets. Like the Yankee it has no singles, so you need two winners for a return. Add the five singles and you have a Lucky 31. Choose "Canadian" or "Lucky 31" in the calculator to work out either bet.
